Chief Financial Officer/Executive Vice President

Responsibilities

As Chief Financial Officer, Mark is responsible for the financial operations of the Company including finances, contracts, accounting and human resources. In addition to those duties, Mark also oversees club operations for all managed properties in the eastern part of North Carolina. He also assists with our consulting services and business development efforts.

Background

Mark has worked in the club business from the bag room to the General Manager's office. With close to two decades of management experience as a Controller, Assistant General Manager, General Manager and regional general manager, his experience has covered both for-profit and not-for-profit clubs, as well as the certification process of the Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program. In addition to his club management experience, Mark spent several years with Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) as an auditor involved with clients in the banking, financial, health care, hospitality and recreational industries. This financial background has been a strong asset for achieving financial turnarounds and improving profits at his various clubs.

Education

Mark graduated from the College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society and is a Certified Public Accountant certificate holder in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Professional Involvement

Mark has been an advisor to the Golf Fore Kids Foundation, which is a direct supporter of the First Tee of Charlotte. He is also a supporter of the MacKay Foundation for Cancer Research and a former member of the Club Managers Association of America and the Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals.

Personal

Mark and his wife, Dawn, live in Durham, North Carolina. Their son, Joshua, is a recent graduate of The College of William and Mary and their daughter, Nikki, attends the University of Georgia.
